2000+ SP

2000 sp.png

That's right I've done it! I've broken the 2000 SP mark! Because round numbers matter! 2019 SP is 7E3 in hexadecimal and 11111100011 in binary! My next big milestone will be 100000000000 binary SP (2048) and 1000 hex (4096). Isn't unit bias fun? Seriously though, I want those 5000 SP AKA 10 million vests. Give me that Dolphin status. I think I can make it. There is only enough room for a couple thousand dolphins on Steem. There are currently only 1741 dolphins on Steem. Just ask @arcange.

As you acquire more SP your upvotes become larger, but more importantly (in my point of view) you get more bandwidth. I currently have over 2.5 gigs of bandwidth with just 2019 Steem. This raises the question: is Steem lying to us about how many transactions this blockchain can handle?

Everyone points to http://blocktivity.info/ as a source that we can trust. It shows that Steem is only operating at 0.09% of it's max potential in terms of transaction bandwidth. Can this really be accurate?

When you consider that at least 150 million Steem is vested, this implies that Steem can handle 187,000 gigs of transaction bandwidth a month. I have an extremely hard time believing this. I remember back when I didn't have that much bandwidth. I couldn't even post before noon PST because bandwidth was being limited in the morning. I have no idea if this is still going on, but if it is I think the numbers that Steemit Inc. throws off are way off base.

In the end it's all about the programmers. We have to start making decentralized apps that actually utilize all this free bandwidth out there. We need to test the limits of Steem and bring it to it's knees to see where we really stand.
