Today will be the first day of a new payout structure for @drugwars:
- 3% Drug Producer
- 3% Heist
While this change is extremely annoying considering my strategy, it also has its perks. I still refuse to put any drugs into the Heist unless I'm being attacked in overwhelming force.
Seeing as the battle system is deactivated this is still a great time to get my six accounts as far ahead as possible. Squeezing a few Steem out of the Heist isn't going to be worth it at all because at this point the buildings I'm looking to buy cost between 17-50 Steem. Might as well just bank the drugs and use them directly, no matter what the payout structure is.
Eventually, the production payout will be removed entirely, because it makes no sense to reward players who have stopped participating in gameplay.
The current shift in rewards is interesting. It creates even more incentive to dump drugs into the Heist which will slow down the progress of the many accounts that choose to take that path. Personally, I'm going long.
The overhead cost of silos and storage is getting out of control. This is creating an interesting development where the previously highly inefficient buildings become just as efficient or more so than higher output buildings. My accounts are starting to hit the brick wall of logarithmic soft caps.
However, I'm holding off on upgrading my lower production buildings. I'll have plenty of time to do that while I'm under attack from battles opening up. Seeing as players play this game with emotion and not logic, I have to assume that even though I am guarding my resources with enough troops I will be attacked regardless of the spoils gained.
Seeing as you can play the game using nothing but custom JSON operations, I'll be doing a dsteem tutorial on them and creating a timer system that anyone can use to create buildings at the right moment. This is also being developed by @emrebeyler via introducing-heisenberg-a-python-framework-to-play-drugwars. However, I think I should also be using this opportunity to advance my skill set using JavaScript.
Also, there have been some exciting developments in terms of creating a gang. Thus far, I've remained silent on the details. I will continue to do so until the path forward is more clear. However, these developments encourage me even more to start interacting with @drugwars using Steem's custom JSON operations. Keep your ear to the ground.
Suggestions:
As battles crawl closer to reopening, I've been thinking about what I would change with the game. I got to thinking about defensive buildings. My favorite defensive buildings where in Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
Tesla Coil
It would be nice if we could create some kind of building as the last line of defense. I always got a certain satisfaction out of watching troops get zapped.
Iron Curtain
The iron curtain makes a unit immune to damage for a time.
It would be nice if we could make our accounts immune to attack for a certain length of time.
A guy's gotta sleep, you know?
Also, it would be nice to secure an upgrade during those critical hours where you are holding a lot of resources.
To be continued...
