Part 0: Steem Tutorials Are Severely Lacking Part 1: Filtering Tabs Part 2: Hello World Part 3: Dissecting Discussions
I've been creating dsteem tutorials trying to get open source Utopian-IO rewards. My first two tutorials were deemed crap by the moderators, but still received like 5% upvotes.

Pretty good considering the Utopian-io account has 3,624,583 SP delegated to it. For frame of reference, it only takes 500,000 SP to be a whale. So the Utopian-io account is a x7 whale.
MATH INCOMING WARNING
There are only 277,366,599 STEEM in circulation. If we take a look at the @arcange account we can see that there are:
236562 + 72314 + 47853 + 25521 + 4947 + 8673 = 395,870 Mvests
One Mvest is worth around 494.3 Steem Power.
So 494.3 Steem/Mvest * 395,870 Mvest = 195,675,468 Total vested Steem.
3,624,583 / 195,675,468 = 0.0185 (1.85%)
So the Utopian-io account controls almost 2% of all upvote inflation. Pretty crazy when you think about it.

I was pretty disappointed when I wrote my third tutorial, received much better praise, but got no upvote. The Utopian-io web site states that if you don't get an upvote within 3 days then don't expect one. I guess I spoke too soon because, as my title implies, I got a 22% upvote an hour ago.
Now my post is paying out $48, which is crazy, because my highest payout before this has been like $25. Thanks @utopian-io.
The important thing to note here is that I don't look at the $48. I look at how much Steem I get. With Steem/USD < $1 a $48 payout creates more than 48 Steem. I'm in this for the long haul, so I'm not nearly as interested in $48 today as I am in 48 Steem in a few years. I agree with @taskmaster4450 when he says that we should be treating each SP as if it's worth much more than it's current value.
This blockchain is relatively unknown, and I hope to be a part of increasing its value.
@utopian-io will help me along the way. Go Go open source development!
