Remember Blocktivity? The ultimate in Steem propaganda. Even as Steem was crashing into the mountain last winter and everyone was having their bandwidth cut, Blocktivity would have still claimed we could of processed a thousand times more transactions. Bull shit.
I knew it was BS then and it's become blatantly more obvious now with the new RC system. Why would Steemit INC be wasting time on scaling if we didn't need to scale yet? An x1000 buffer isn't enough? Please.

This index is straightforward. It represents the actual blockchain usage and the remaining available capacity. Have a look at how many Tx have been recorded during a day and see how much more capacity the blockchain has left. You will be surprised!
So straightforward! Don't bother telling me more about this magical huge number you divided everything by. You know, the one you're basing ALL THE PROPAGANDA ON.
Beep boop beep: remaining_available_capacity = moon
Proof-of-brain
Multiple times in the whitepaper and the bluepaper Steemit Inc makes the claim that the most rewards will flow into the best content. This is a sales pitch. This is a fantasy. It's better that this is a lie rather than actually believing it. Liars make much better leaders than fools do.
HF20
Remember 3 days ago when Steemit Inc told us that HF20 was a massive success and was totally "working as intended"? Remember when they used our blockchain as a testnet in order to push the code through the meat grinder faster? Remember that it's 'just a beta'?
Centralization
Remember when the claim was made that Steem is the most decentralized because their are 20 equal weight block producers?
So what happens if someone throws a billion dollars at Steem? I'll tell you what: It only takes 20 votes to pick all the witnesses, and they get 30 votes! (Seriously, why do we get so many votes, it's dumb. I say 5 max.)
Granted, this is likely an impossible situation, because we would not allow a hostile takeover to take place. The value of Steem would simply skyrocket and the billionaire would not be able to acquire a majority share. That's not the point though. The point is we are constantly being lied to. The distribution of Steem to trusted individuals is what makes us decentralized or not. Block producers have nothing to do with it.
Conclusion
Don't get me wrong, I think Steem is great. I've spent a lot of time talking trash on it, but I think it has massive potential. My biggest crypto investment of all 2000 cryptocurrencies is in Steem. I believe in investing in the coins we actually use, and Steem is one of the few that applies to.
However, Steemit Inc needs to pull their heads out their asses and stop lying. The sky isn't the limit, and that's fine. The credibility we lose from being lying snakes overshadows the new users we onboard with shady tactics. Cut the shit and give it to me straight. We aren't children. We don't need sugar coated candies and rainbow unicorns.
