Theycallmedan Viking Battle: Things I didn't know about the Steem Hostile Takeover.

tronvirussunhostiletakeover.gif

Hive was birthed during COVID-19's inception.

Think of how crazy a story that is going to be ten years down the line! In any case, the story of our ascension has been retold on Decrypt.

Check it out:

https://decrypt.co/38050/steem-steemit-tron-justin-sun-cryptocurrency-war

If you recall, the dollar amount Steemit was bought for was a huge point of contention and speculation.

Larimer was long gone by this point, so Sun made a deal with Scott: He offered just shy of $8 million to buy the company and the ninjamined stake, according to sources with knowledge of the deal. (Sun declined to be interviewed for this story, as did Larimer and Scott.)

Though the number of tokens had dwindled and the stake now represented some 30% of the total token supply, it was easily enough to establish a massive voting share in Steem's on-chain governance system.

Why was Ned so invested in the platform after he sold?

Another point of contention.

Sun had one condition, however: He said he would only pay 70% upfront, with the balance due once the Steem token was transferred to the Tron blockchain. His plan was to have the Steem token keep its name but run on the Tron network instead.

ORLY! lawls. nice try.

So when is that happening?
Still waiting.

After the Steemit funds get frozen:

“It was like shooting first and then talking with them,” one Steem community member recently complained to Decrypt. The person—who is actually a Sun supporter—asked that his real name be withheld because he had received death threats.

Yes indeed, we are a rowdy bunch.
Murder is bad, friends. But still, shots were fired on both sides constantly, duh.

He reached out to Huobi’s operations team via WeChat, according to Huobi Vice President Ciara Sun, along with crypto exchange Binance and his own exchange Poloniex. Ciara Sun said he warned Huobi that the network was under attack, that funds had been frozen and there was a backdoor in the code that let the “attackers” freeze anyone’s funds.

Sun asked Huobi to use its Steem tokens to take over the network so he could pass a crucial upgrade to keep it safe. Ciara Sun said that he didn’t mention that the funds involved were his own.

Kek... sounds about right.

On March 4, there was a breakthrough when Splinterlands’s Rosen, a long time witness, broke into the top 20. It nearly moved him to tears. Soon six more anti-Sun witnesses broke through. “I saw people who hated each other, they banded together. It was like an alien invasion, it was really amazing,” Hensley said.

Fun times. Such glory. Much wow.

Like a boss.

During the voting war, Hensley spent $400,000 buying Steem tokens to boost the community’s voting power but each time he did, it would significantly bump the cryptocurrency’s price—making it more expensive to buy. On a call, Steemit’s managing director Elizabeth Powell told him that Sun was buying 300,000 Steem tokens ($60,000) a day, in response, to keep his witnesses at the top.

Reading the story again... even though I fucking lived it... ah well I guess it gives me flashbacks and really jacks me up. Kinda makes me feel bad for playing Devil's Advocate and debating that those fund seizures were not theft. RIP @theycallmedan's Steem.

Luckily my opinion doesn't mean much (zero) in terms of actual litigation. Truly, we need to flush Sun out of Steemit by slamming him with lawsuits. Even though I don't think we'll really get anywhere we can force him to show his true colors. Steemit Inc will be dissolved and the world will know that Binance supports this criminal behavior.

Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swingin' an axe into somebody's face... or in a Roman arena takin' a sword to other gladiators like him.

Hive has its very own Viking.

@theycallmedan is a self-proclaimed straight-savage. Do you believe him? I do. This is a guy who's way you do not want to be in. When lines are drawn best to pick the correct side.

I listened to one of his videos the other day as he talked about being a kid and answering the age-old question of, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

With a straight face and deathly serious:

I'm going to be a billionaire.

Who says that?

You'd think more kids would say shit like that, but they really don't. I can't think of a single time I've heard anyone say they wanted to be a billionaire and actually put in the work to achieve that goal. Most people say it in jest, as if the billions will just fall into their hands without having to work for it. Spoiler alert: that doesn't count.

I've heard doctor, lawyer, fireman, policeman, astronaut, pro athlete; all the cliches... even accountant and car salesman. Never billionaire. To be fair, that's not an actual profession, but at the same time money is so worshiped that it's almost weird we don't hear it all the time.

So say we all.

@theycallmedan will be a billionaire in less than a decade. I can all but guarantee that. He's already got millions and crypto will go x1000 over the next decade. Sorted.

However, what kind of billionaire will he be? Will he become corrupted like so many others before him by the forces of raw greed? I hope not, but that's a tall order. I can't think of a single billionaire who I'm like... Hm yeah... that guy is cool, I support that guy! They are all double-dealing gladhanding douchebags.

Still, new-money billionaires are about to be forged from the fires of Hell itself. Billionaires the likes of which the world has never seen; crypto billionaires. When we look at the tenants of crypto, we can see that new money flowing into this space positions itself to greatly disrupt the status quo. The ideology of decentralizing power speaks for itself.

That being said, all champions of the people eventually end up in an early grave, so how does one walk that line? Crypto billionaires will truly have to play double-agent, creating value for the people and the elite at the same time. Robin Hood is a popular fictional character because he can not survive in the real world for long. The only possible way to pull that off is to stay anonymous like Satoshi Nakamoto herself.

bruce lee.jpg

Julius Caesar tried to take land from the elite and give it to the people. Nothing a good public stabbing on the senate floor can't handle. JFK tried to take power away from the CIA. He was assassinated by a "magic bullet". Bruce Lee wanted to teach the entire world, regardless of race or nation, the power of his discipline & philosophy. He survived brain swelling the first time around, and was killed on the second go (undetectable mafia ninja poison if you ask me!).

Is that the best you can do, you pansies? -- Bruce Lee's Brain

And so we are left in the awkward situation where the slavemasters of this world are going to approach these new-money crypto billionaires and remind them that they need to play ball and not make too many waves. Nobody likes a turd in the punch bowl, amirite?

So what's going to happen? Probably a lot more of the same stuff we've seen for the last 2000 years when it comes to power struggles and disruptive dynamics. However, at the same time we can probably expect the unexpected as well considering the unique position humanity finds itself in.

Hive Drone

XRP has an Army, Link has Marines, I guess that makes me a Hive grunt, peon, or drone. Unfortunately ant/bee drones are the males that just mate with the queen and die instantly with no other purpose (lol). Not the best analogy.

Irregardless of the metaphor used, these communities popping up are getting extremely zealous, to the point of overshadowing nationalism itself. This makes sense when we think about it. If your community actually takes care of you (unlike the government) it's going to create a wide array of undying loyalty, and that loyalty is probably the most important aspect of many of these communities, as this energy will fuel the fire of progress during the cold winters.

We've seen this more than once with the Steem/Hive community. People get very serious around here with the token price hits all time lows (~10 cents) or if some vulture capitalist comes along and tries to control us unilaterally. This place isn't going anywhere. Locked in, ready to roll.

Not investment Zealot advice.

I don't acquire Hive because I want to make money (that's what BTC and ETH are for). I hold it because I want to be a part of a zealous community. There's a definite blood-is-thicker-than-water bond going on around here. I believe this bond will be more valuable then money going forward, especially if the world turns to shit as bad as I think it might. Who knows how strong our little family will get in the future with all these exponential gains and trustless scaling solutions.

Where else am I going to find people that believe in energy crystals, underground master-race reptiles, flat-earth, 5G, COVID denying, 911, QAnon, Globalism, Depopulation, Ice-Age, war-mongering imperialism. For me, a lot of the time it doesn't even matter what the truth is. I want the people who question authority on my team, no matter how outlandish. We can sort out the rest later when we actually have the power to do something about it.

Until then

Stay strong, get along.

Also, if the establishment tells you a champion of the people was literally assassinated by magic, maybe don't believe them. Just sayin'.
