This week in censorship land... Classic Crypto Blunder

In case you missed it.

Biggest blunder in Steem history?

This is one they'll be talking about for a long time.

How did inactive troll account @bittrix get 182k coins?

@darthknight spelled Bittrex wrong :(

So this is pretty crazy because I was just talking about it.

AND END WELL IT DID NOT!

Seriously you can't make this stuff up. I have to hope that this is some kind of trick and @darthknight was actually able to get in contact with @bittrix... but somehow I highly doubt it.

This is one of those classic blunders like mining 1000 BTC on a laptop and then looking for the flash drive at the dump for the next decade. It's really bad for Hive, because there is a chance that all of that value would have made it here eventually. Now that money may be lost forever, or even worse, in the hands of some domain troll. Actually never mind it being in the hands of a troll is better because he'll dump it and cash out to something else.

Can you imagine logging in to Steem to randomly see that a whale accidentally powered down to your troll account that's one letter off from a major exchange? Seriously wow.

And because the account is now censored he can't change it.

This is all shaping up to be yet another reason why Sun is going to get sued 8 ways to Sunday for the actions he's performed here.

The SEC is already thirsty for blood in the case against the Tron Foundation.

Unfortunately, none of the whales who got blacklisted used the withdrawal routes to their full advantage.

If this had happened to me I would have set withdrawal routes to as many accounts as possible before I got censored. The whales who got censored were in a great position to make liars out of Steemit the second they claimed they were only blocking a max of 20 accounts. One person could easily set routes to 100 other accounts, which would have immediately forced them censor 100+ accounts and made the community even more angry.

Not only that, this blanket-ban strategy could have been used against them. Once you've set up hundreds of withdrawal routes these noob witnesses would have just blindly started censoring the list. Troll withdrawal routes could have been set for the absolute minimum to accounts that didn't belong to the whales. Essentially, they had the opportunity to censor any account that they wanted, all they had to do was add a withdrawal route to it for the minimum amount. There were a lot of missed opportunities here to use their own strategies against them and make them work a lot harder to censor these accounts.

Wouldn't it have been hilarious if the witnesses accidentally censored their own accounts in a foolhardy blanket-ban?

@penguinpablo fully censored.

The stats he was providing were the most neutral pieces of information you could possibly imagine. This proves once again how authority hates transparency. These stats were showing the exodus from Steem, therefore they must be silenced.

Specific posts are getting censored as well. They're being banned on the Steemit API level so even frontends like Steempeak are suffering from the censorship. However, if I'm being honest, I don't see the point of using the Steemit API when you're running your own node. If you have all the information on your own server why are you pinging Steemit's node for information you should already have? Just goes to show you how inefficient and new everything around here is.

It won't end here.

If there's one thing I've learned during all this, it's that Justin Sun will keep doubling down to infinity and beyond.

Even I'm censored!

https://steempeak.com/steem/@edicted/another-thursday-another-steem-dump This post does not appear on my feed or anyone else's, even on SteemPeak.

It is truly mind blogging what a ceaseless douchebag dictator he is being as he attacks his own investment like a fool.

Expect the escalation to continue.

I can't powerdown fast enough. Every week my account stays non-frozen is a blessing. Definitely not cross-posting this one to Steem. I'm no martyr.
