When Trump took office, the authoritarian right was given power. A bunch of messed up stuff happened. When Biden took office, the authoritarian left was given power. A bunch of messed up stuff happened. Gee, I think I'm seeing a pattern here. Perhaps there is some common denominator at play.
While all the children squabble at the kids table of politics, The real people in charge are out there getting real work done. That real work involves consolidating more power and dominating opponents. All other objectives are secondary.
Imperialism reigns supreme.
Everyone with immense power is out there trying to play God. They step on the peasants while trying to build themselves up with little regard to anyone or anything besides their own small circle of influence (tribalism).
My kingdom for a horse!
The thing about power is that it's all relative. The peons of current day have more power than the kings of old. We've gone as far as we can go down this path. The future requires balance.
We find ourselves reeling through a reality that has very little balance and needs to be brought to heel. The new paradigm shift can not be avoided: only delayed (and not by much). We have terraformed this entire planet like the ants we are: an unsustainable blight of cancerous growth. Mother Earth is not pleased.
Maybe humans just exist to give Earth plastic.
Truly, humanity finds itself running full speed at a cliff: evolve or die! Stinky humans!
Time to grow some wings!
You know it really would have been interesting to see how Native American culture would have turned out if we hadn't completely obliterated them. They practiced abundance. They practiced gratitude. They practiced balance and sustainability and respect.
Perhaps I should do more research on Native American culture, because it is that exact kind of mindset that the world needs now more than ever.
Because as it stands now, there really are no options. We either support left-wing imperialism or right-wing imperialism. The entire system is a loop-holed trap that repeats itself no matter who's in charge. Again, it all comes down to scaling up, and we've reached the cap on that front using the old template of doing things.
New boss, same as the old boss.
Which is why we now require systems that have no boss. No more centralized authority that requires trust. Trustless systems are the future, and it doesn't matter which countries decide to swing their ban hammers. Like it or not: this is happening. And we will all be better off.
We require new templates, and they've yet to be invented.
Again, power is relative, and everyone on the planet is going to have x1000 the power they have now (and beyond) after everything is said and done, just like the peasants of today have more power than the kings of yesterday.
We can always count on greed.
And crypto is nothing if not profitable.
Come for the money, stay for the ______.
