Zuckerberg Makes The Obvious Play

Three days ago I made the claim:

A game of smoke and mirrors is about to begin. Zuckerberg is going to run point and make regulators think that he is the person to talk to and apply pressure to. Once they think they have him right where they want him he will retreat back into the ranks of all the sponsors of Libra.

Already we see this reality unfolding.

Building a financial system is not the kind of thing that a company can do by itself. So we played a role in helping to stand this up.

But the Libra Association is an independent organization, and we will have one vote in it… By the time it launches, hopefully we will have 100 co-founding companies.”

Granted, most of the article is about why Libra is a dumpster fire and why it can't be trusted, but the author misses the point entirely.

Zero competition

If central banking came up with a new payment system would we be worried that it competes with crypto? No? Then why is everyone up in arms about Libra competing with Bitcoin? Is the general public so damn gullible that simply saying the word cryptocurrency makes it a reality? That's a topic for another post entirely.

Five Pillars

  • Open
  • Public
  • Borderless
  • Neutral
  • Censorship-resistant

According to Andreas Antonopoulos, these are the attributes that make crypto crypto. How many of these will Libra have? One or two of them max? The only fuss anyone should be making are the central banks that are about to be slapped across the face by this tech.

Conclusion

If Facebook wants to unite the corporate world using some of the decentralized tools of the blockchain why aren't we all jumping for joy? They could be on the verge of breaking up a century old monopoly. How much easier of a target will Libra be once the actual decentralized movement is ready to move forward?

The money that gets pumped into Libra is going to benefit the entire world. All the laws regarding cryptocurrency are about to be turned in our favor. They will be bought and paid for by the corporate world. All we have to do is sit back and chuckle.

The corporations aggressively entering the cryptosphere are going to destabilize the banking sector before we even have the chance.

I wrote that six months ago, and I was thinking about it six months before that. We 'finally' see it coming to fruition, as if a year is a long time to wait for the biggest and most fearsome cartel to be broken up.

Concluding conclusion

Libra is the centralized tip of the spear that is paving the way for the rest of us, and that tip will get broken off inside the beast of central banking as it dies a slow painful death from decentralized infection.

Rejoice.
